Grandma's Fudge Bars

An oversized fudge cookie bar that pleases a crowd of any age. Grandma's Fudge Bars include a large batch brown sugar cookie topped with a homemade fudge sauce, then topped with more cookie dough.

FUDGE SAUCE

Three simple ingredients: chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and some butter. Throw it all in a pan - once it's all melted and smooth, add the vanilla. Whisk together and set aside while you mix up the cookie bar.

COOKIE BAR

Grandma's Fudge Bar base is brown sugar and butter, resulting in a moist and chewy cookie. Its a simple cookie recipe that comes together in minutes.

When spreading the cookie on the cookie sheet, I spray my hands with avocado oil often. This allows the cookie to spread easily without sticking to my hands. Work quickly! It seems to help.

Press 2/3 of the cookie bar evenly, then drizzle on the fudge sauce. Spread out thinly until the cookie bar is covered.

The remaining 1/3 of the cookie dough gets pressed thin and placed gently on top of the fudge. They look like cookie islands floating in a sea of chocolate.

These bake up really fast and are ready to eat once they've cooled.
